Eli Lilly Lung Cancer Drug Improves Progression Free Survival

Eli Lilly and Co. (LLY: News ) Sunday said the continued use of its cancer drug Alimta can improve progression-free survival in patients with the most common form of lung cancer.

In the results of Phase 3 study presented at Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology in Chicago, the company said Alimta in the continuation maintenance setting met its primary end point of progression-free survival for patients with a specific type of lung cancer called advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer or NSCLC.
